What the 3 Kings Brought Galicia

Of course the winning El Niño lottery number, worth around 120 million euros, was sold in Monforte de Lemos, so that´s something too.

In Spain, traditionally gifts are exchanged on Epiphany, when the 3 Kings visited the baby Jesus

  1. You had it rough in Galicia and a family swept out to sea. Tragic. Spectacular surf.

  3. Very sad, yes.

I see you had some weather yourselves.

People, put away the camera and back away from the coastline when there´s a red alert.

That shot is from Redes, not that far from where they got swept out to sea. I wonder how those houses are now.

  4. On the night of the 25th/31st December comes the Apalpador or Pandigueiro, the Galician Father Christmas. The Magi are a Spanish Tradition...

  5. Yeah, they´re trying to revive the Apalpador guy, but frankly, that is the CREEPIEST Christmas tradition ever. Some guy, carrying a sack, sneaks into your house at night to touch your children? Right. And he passes out chestnuts.

Frankly, he´ll have a hard time against the Magic Kings and Santa. I´m just saying. . .
