Rustic Bathrooms

Perhaps it´s coincidence, but as the prospect of our life savings vanishing into the maw of the Spanish banking system becomes ever more possible, my aesthetic turns to more simple and rustic. Here are some bathrooms I´ve found.

I like the contrast between the glass shower enclosure and the exposed stone. (This is a stunning seaside cottage project from the Knickerbocker Group.)

Love all the texture, although I´m starting to worry about cleaning soap scum off of brick/stone.

Love the arrangement of shower and tub. Possibly a polished cement tub poured in place?

My undying love of zinc. Ridiculous chandelier. I hate whimsey. And you kids get off my lawn.

V thinks we should eliminate the tub altogether, since we both shower. I think that when we´re creaking from gardening, it might be a good idea to have a tub to soak in. Clawfoot tubs are everywhere, but we probably can´t afford one here, they´re not easy to find and considered Antiques. I do like the enclosed kind. Maybe wood panelled.

Of course there´s always the chance we´ll be lucky to end up with this.

  1. I just wanted to say hi :) I am a new follower to your blog. We are an australian family living in Thailand but our first expat assignment (the one that had us hooked to International living) was in Galicia. Its been over 2 years since we left and we still miss it a lot.
